One of the things I need to get better at is making the most of an early morning sunrise photoshoot when the sun or clouds don’t do their part. Unlike a sunset, where you can judge if taking a trek to a location is worth the effort, a sunrise is often, even with great technology, a wild guess. There is a good deal of luck involved.

This shot is from one of those mornings. Luckily I was in a location that allowed me to point the camera in other directions. This is a moody edit of foggy San Francisco as seen from Pier 1.
