In Pumalín Park, at the end of the Cahuelmó Fjord near Hornopirén, Chile, is the “Termas de Cahuelmó,” or Cahuelmó Hot Springs. It is a natural hot spring accessible only via boat, and only open for day visits.

It’s difficult to show the immense scale of this place without something to provide perspective. The photo below of our second boat in the distance does an excellent job of illustrating the grand nature of this location.

The way I’ve described it to my friends is that it looks as it might look if you moved the Rocky Mountains to the edge of the California Coast and let the Pacific Ocean fill the valleys. The beauty is a bit overwhelming. It’s a very special place. The spring pools, as you will see below, are natural rock formations with the same dramatic backdrop. Simply wow.
