Mothers Day Sunrise

As I watched the sunrise this morning, I took the opportunity to reflect on two Mothers; my own Mom and the woman my children call Mom. It occurred to me in that reflection that I am who I am today in large measure because of my Mother. Good decisions, bad decisions, love, discipline, all of it resulting in my standing in that moment of reflection.

And my children, still sleeping at home, would soon wake to a day designed to celebrate Mothers, but more importantly they would wake up to a very specific Mother who loves them with a love that only comes from being a Mom. I love my children, and still, I recognize that there is a kind of love that I could never provide. There is a kind of care I could never give because it comes from a place I can never visit. I am so very blessed. So are my children.
