palm in sand fire smoke

Smoke from the Sand Fire stretching out over the Los Angeles basin into Venice Beach creates an eerie backdrop for, well, everything. The entire sky took on an orange glow that made all of Los Angeles feel like a post-apocalyptic movie set. The fire itself is a nightmare for many in Santa Clarita, and my heart goes out to them and the firefighters battling the blaze. And at the same time it is, quite frankly, a photographer’s dream. One I won’t mind waking from, however.
