monumental santa clarita sunset

Last night’s sunset in Santa Clarita was awe-inspiring. The cloud layers were perfectly placed to allow the sun’s twilight color to spread across the sky. Everywhere I looked there was color, even to the East where the sky and hills were purple. There will be many more photos from this night posted here in the coming weeks. I was blown away.

I took a photo with my iPhone and sent it to my family in a group text. The Boy responded with, “That’s so cool.” My response? “It is. It brings me joy.” And it does.

“If there is one thing clear about the centuries dominated by the factory and the wheel, it is that although the machine can make everything from a spoon to a landing-craft, a natural joy in earthly living is something it never has and never will be able to manufacture.” –  Henry Beston
