Neutral Density Skyline

Unlike my first morning in Chicago with epic clouds, here were no clouds on my last morning of this trip. I decided to take the opportunity to slap on an adjustable neutral density filter. I turned up the density until I reached an exposure length I thought would nullify the waves and perhaps create a different mood. This exposure was 8 seconds and it certainly creates a different mood. Compare it with the shot below.

Opinions will certainly vary on things like this. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For me, the longer exposure holds my attention better. I may be preconditioned to believe it was worth the effort, however. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
