Once again, as I drove to photograph the sunrise over Santa Clarita, I could see the color beginning to blast across the clouds. I snapped the photo above the moment I got to a decent spot. I then repositioned my camera and changed a setting to lighten up the scene for the series of shots that made the panorama below. In those few seconds, the color had already begun to recede. And it never came back. Ninety percent of photography success is showing up… on time.
