I probably don’t point my camera at the moon often enough. If you search the word “moon” on this site, the results are pretty anemic. My problem is this… since I don’t point at far away objects very often, I haven’t really felt the need for a lens that is longer than 240MM. To get a great shot of the moon, I’ve always thought I needed a bit more. But this Sony a7r Mark II has such high resolution I think I can crop from a 240MM shot and still retain good quality, at least for web presentation. The shot below is an example. And because I can shoot at ISO 50, noise is not an issue on the close crop. What do you think?
