There are several advantages to arriving at a sunrise early. First, there is the beauty of quiet time to myself, long before emails, slack messages and phone calls begin. Second, there is the chance that intense colors will present themselves in contrast against the still darkened sky, as they did on this morning. This is part of the evolution of a sunrise, and seeing the entire progression is almost always worth the effort. The third reason? Arriving late is not an option.
