The staff member who greeted me at the Budget Inn Motel in Green River, Utah was either half asleep or fully drunk. Apparently, he is the not the regular guy, since the first words he said to me after I rang the bell the sign told me to ring were, “I don’t know how the regular manager does this. I’ll never do this job again. All of the bell ringing drives me crazy.” Yes, those were the first words. He really loves his wife though, since he couldn’t keep his hands off of her while she prepared my receipt. He had to call her to the desk for help since I decided to pay with cash. I wasn’t handing this guy my credit card.

So distracted by the intense level of sketchy the motel and staff were displaying and trying to keep the situation lighthearted for the three teenage boys traveling with me, I almost missed the sunset. Almost. 🙂
