When I finally decided to look at the clock it was 3:30 am. I have no idea how long I had been awake by that time, I just knew staying in bed was not going to bring sleep. I decided a short long exposure session might be in order. I don’t get enough practice with night shots, so I made a cup of coffee, grabbed my camera and headed over to Bridgeport to get some lights reflected off the water.

When I’m shooting landscapes I typically shoot in aperture priority mode. These night shots force me to go full manual. Focusing seems to be my biggest issue, though I would also reduce my editing time dramatically if I took more photos at a variety of shutter speeds. I most certainly need to do this more often.
