I loved the colors of Lisbon, Portugal. I loved the black cobblestone streets, the intricate designs of the black and white tiled sidewalks, and the colors of the buildings accented by clothes hanging from lines. There is a visual feast everywhere you look. I would not have passed up the time with family for anything in the world, but I could have easily spent hours each day focused on the colorful landscape this ancient city provided. This street is inside the walls of the Castelo de São Jorge, just meters from our apartment. Its narrow path, dotted with drying clothing and bird cages, leads to a gated entry to the Castle. Just writing that last sentence has me longing to return.
