Yesterday morning as I walked back to my truck after shooting photos of the Sunrise at Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park, I looked through a break in the rocks at a patch of wild grasses growing. Scattered among the grasses and flowering fiddlenecks were a smattering of small yellow and purple wildflowers. As if it were posing in the early morning light, this purple beauty was standing alone with the grasses far enough behind it to set the lens at 240mm for this very shallow depth of field shot. I’m happy I took a moment to stop, stare, and snap a few extra photos.
