Mother Hummingbird

I waited for almost an hour, watching the nest that sits outside of my daughters’ window. The mother hummingbird returned, but cautiously. For the first time, I had removed the screen and stuck my lens past the frame of the window to get better shots of her two babies. They were nestled comfortably side by side, filling the entire nest, keeping warm. She rested on this very top branch of the tree until she felt it was safe to return to the nest. Watching her feed them, up close, was worth the wait. You can see the video of the event here: Feeding Time
