My first morning in Banff was spent on the frozen banks of the Bow River, just below the Bow Falls vista point and the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. Joined by Dale Chumbley, we made the most of a lackluster sky in a place that is visually overpowering even when the sky is gray. There were better mornings for sunrises during my stay, but this morning was about friendship and connection. And as much as I love a good sunrise, I’ll take connection every time.
