There was the line to get into the park. Then the hours of waiting for the rest of the family to arrive. Then the hours of anticipation. All of that was followed by 15 minutes of the most spectacular fireworks display I’ve ever seen. And then, it was over. Frankly, Sydney is so beautiful at night, the smokey aftermath itself may have been worth the effort.
