On September 14, 2007, I posted a version of the photo above as the first photo on this photo blog. The title read; A Photo Blog Is Born. I decided to edit the original jpeg file from that photo and repost it again today to celebrate a nine-year journey to pursue a hobby I’ve come to love more than I could have imagined. Here is that file for comparison.

This blog and the photographic technology behind it have changed dramatically over those years. In July of 2007, my camera of choice was the Kodak v705. I saved the files in the only way I could, to JPEG. I loved that camera. It has such a great wide-angle to it. They don’t make it anymore.

Flat Rocks Too

For a time, only iPhone photos made it onto this blog. And I went through a number of different phases as new photo apps rose and fell in popularity. I even spent time posting nothing but square photos, mimicking Instagram. I decided only recently to begin taking this hobby seriously. I’m thankful I did.

Today, my camera of choice is the Sony a6000, and I save exclusively in RAW so I have the greatest amount of data to edit using Lightroom. The photos on this page were pulled from my archives and into Lightroom to get more from them than I did in 2007. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than to take a little trip down memory lane.

Flat Rocks and Boys

Many of you reading this right now have been on this journey with me for the long haul. Thank you. Your encouragement and continued support have meant the world to me. I look forward to seeing what the next nine years might bring.
