My 17-year-old son told me yesterday that he loves 7:30pm game starts, because the game begins with the lights on. I love 7:30 game starts too, but not for the same reason. At this time of year, it means the sun is setting an hour before game time, and thirty minutes after the JV game. It’s the perfect opportunity to indulge my sunset fetish.
It will only be a few weeks before the time changes and the sun begins to set right in the middle of the JV game. I take my job as family photographer/videographer at these events way too seriously to miss a play trying to get a shot of a colorful sky. Besides, I love taking photos of sunsets, but I love capturing these moments in my children’s lives even more. And there is no app to tell me what time they’re going to happen each day.
So, here’s to 7:30 games and 6:30 sunsets. Enjoy them while they last. 🙂
