Stepping into the eroded Oligocene Vasquez Formation that is Vasquez Rocks Natural Area at sunrise is like stepping back in time. You could imagine large Hadrosaurs roaming this area, if only it hadn’t likely been covered by ocean at the time dinosaurs roamed the world. But you can still imagine.
