It feels like forever since I’ve had the chance to go shoot a sunrise. I’ve had a cold for almost a month and it has curtailed, well, just about everything. Last night I was feeling a bit better so I checked The Photographer’s Ephemeris to see what the morning might look like and it gave a 90% chance of “Sky Fire” in the Agua Dulce area. As you can see, it was right. I’m thankful for a morning watching and photographing Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park come alive. [ location ]

This is a great shot! Love Vasquez Rocks! Did you have to park outside the gate and walk in? I was curious about doing some sunrise or sunset shooting there but wasn’t sure about the logistics.
Matt, yes you have to park outside the gate and walk in, but there is a designated place right by the main gate that makes that simple. It’s how I do it each time. I’m almost always the only human there.
Awesome thanks for the info!
