As the morning progressed, the eerie pre-dawn glow of the moonlit rocks gave way to a glorious sunrise that exposed the desert colors. The textures of Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park are mesmerizing. Catherine Opie once said, “the biggest cliche in photography is sunrise and sunset.” In moments like this, I couldn’t care less about her opinion.
