Over the course of my five-hour drive from Lake Havasu, Arizona to my home in Santa Clarita, California, I received a gift of dramatic changes in weather. I found the spot above out of necessity. Just to the right is where I pulled off of Highway 40 to take a conference call, staring down the National Trails Highway, Route 66. I had just driven through the most snow I had seen in a long, long time. The contrasts came fast and furious. It was spectacular.
