Steffin McCarter, Texas, 7.87m (25′ 9.8″)

Where the world’s best athletes compete” is the Mt. SAC Relays tagline and it’s accurate. For the Open Invitational Men’s Long Jump, the great Carl Lewis set the meet record in 1987 with a 28′ 5″ flight. He would be out of frame in most of these shots. At the 2019 event, Steffin McCarter of Texas won with a still impressive 25′ 9.8″ leap, shown above. William Williams finished in second place with a jump of 25′ 8.6″, shown below, and Jamal Britt of Sequoias, not shown, finished third with a 24′ 9.6″ jump. Capturing these elite athletes in action was inspiring.

William Williams, Unattached, 7.84m (25′ 8.6″)
Harrison Schrage, UCLA, 7.53m (24′ 8.5″)
Albert MacArthur, UT Valley, 7.48m
Tristan James, Oregon, 7.28m
