Sony calls this “the perfect 85 mm F1.4 portrait lens with outstanding sharpness dissolving to magnificent bokeh.” So, I decided to rent this beast of a lens from Glazer’s Camera Rentals while I was attending the 2019 NAR iOi Summit in Seattle, Washington.
The image above is the first photo I took with the lens. He was gracious enough to pose for a moment so I could check out how well it worked with the Sony a7r II’s eye focus. I was pleased. The rest of the photos here are a few of the shots I like. They were taken over the course of the next two days. I think Sony may be right. It is the perfect portrait lens.
