I downloaded the latest version of Pixelmator to test the updated ML Super Resolution feature. I had tried it on a trial when it was originally released but wasn’t that impressed by the upscaling results. And, I’ll say the current results are still spotty compared to what can be done with other AI solutions, like Topaz Gigapixel AI. But while I was in the app I noticed the “Mandala” effect filter and had a play. I love the hand-drawn Mandalas that I’ve seen. “In New Age,” as Wikipedia describes, “the mandala is a diagram, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically; a time-microcosm of the universe, but it originally meant to represent wholeness and a model for the organizational structure of life itself, a cosmic diagram that shows the relation to the infinite and the world that extends beyond and within minds and bodies.” So… I’m attracted to the black and white versions I came up with while playing with a few of my old images. But I kinda dig the color version as well. It’s fun to try new things. 🙂
