I came up the hill to my home with my back to the East, so I didn’t get a real glimpse of what was happening behind me until I turned for the final leg of my morning jaunt. It was close to 6:30 am, just after the official start of civil twilight, and the sky was beginning to show signs that color would be blasted on the smattering of clouds in the sky. It wouldn’t last long. So I knew if I wanted to capture the scene, I needed to get home quickly, grab my camera, and drive to an easy-access location as quickly as possible. I chose the side of Vasquez Canyon Road.

Beautiful sunrises. Incredibly sharp throughout the entire depth of field. It is amazing how quickly the colors of the sunrise change and how soon the colors fade away. As always, outstanding artistry.
Thank you, Don. Now… I think it’s time you started a photography blog. 🙂
I envy your ability to take so many gorgeous photos. I seem to go in spurts: weeks or even months between shots I feel might be share-worthy. Your work always inspires me. You help me to be a better photographer!
Don, I love your portfolio, but I am lucky to also know the depth of thought you possess. I think the world would benefit from the stories behind your images and your thoughts about them, even if sporadic.
