On my first morning in Manly Vale, I awoke to a Lorakeet getting breakfast in the tree outside Phil Kell’s home. Outside of a zoo, we don’t get a lot of Lorakeets here in Southern California. By “not a lot,” I mean zero. Thankfully, I’ve had enough experience in Australia to know not to stray too far from my camera. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to snap pictures of this vibrant bird as I chased it around the yard. When people ask me why I love Australia, experiences like this are a main part of my answer. But I still hate the Australian Magpie. 🙂
