Fan Tan Alley is a narrow alley in Victoria’s Chinatown that is known for being the narrowest commercial street in North America. It is less than 3 feet wide at its narrowest point and was originally built in the late 1800s to accommodate the growing Chinese population in Victoria. The alley was once a center for opium dens and gambling, but it has since been revitalized and is now a popular tourist destination. It is home to a variety of shops, restaurants, and art galleries and is a designated heritage property by the local government. It’s awesome. 🙂
