After several days of glorious sunrises here on the beach, Gahlord Dewald convinced us a sunrise at Makapu‘u Point Lighthouse was in order. The Makapu‘u Point Lighthouse trail is an easy hike up a paved road to the lighthouse. We left the beach at 4:30 to arrive at the trailhead at 5:30 and made it to the top just in time to catch the sun peaking its head over the Pacific Ocean.
If you can do it, I highly recommend it. Gahlord then took us for another treat – Leonard’s Bakery Malasada Truck in Koko Marina. Also highly recommended!
