A trip to the peak of Cerro Catedral was not on our list of things to do this morning. I was trying to drive up Accesso Cerro Otto to where I had previously been with the Tangilla crew – “Piedras Blancas.” Unfortunately, I didn’t check that blog post first and overconfidently headed to the wrong place. Like a Jeff Turner death march (IYKYK), only in a car. In this case, it turned out to be a good thing.
Instead, we wound up in the parking lot of the Cerro Catedral ski resort and saw that we could take the gondolas and ski lifts to the top. Why not, right? It was a fabulous morning. Rocky built some of her rock sculptures at the peak, and we enjoyed the breathtaking view from almost 7000 feet. Here are some scenes from the trip up, down, and at the top. Enjoy!
