It was the size of the Patagonian Bees that surprised me. I’m so used to the size of the bees here in Santa Clarita. They’re small—tiny, actually. The Patagonian Bees are like some of the Bees in West Virginia. It’s like they have so much food they’re engorged, which is likely true. Bees vary in size across the globe because of evolutionary adaptations to their local environment, including the availability of food sources, climate conditions, and the types of flowers they need to pollinate. I just learned that. Now you know, too. 🙂
