Last night’s SpaceX launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base was visible with the naked eye from our front yard in Santa Clarita, California. Vendenberg is a 141-mile drive from our house, and 117 miles as the crow flies. On a clear night, you can watch it trail off into the distance. Last night, there was a bit of cloud cover, so the plume from the Falcon 9 rocket carrying 24 Starlink satellites was only visible for short moments, but it was still exciting to see.
