The Canyon Fire started burning today in the hills just across the 5 Freeway from our home in Santa Clarita. The fire broke out around 2 PM northeast of Piru, California. By 7 pm, around the time the photo above was taken, the fire had spread to more than 1000 acres. The smoke filled the sky and wrapped around the Los Padres National Forest to the North. As we learned all too well in this past year, these fires are not to be taken lightly. But the smoke and sun certainly do play well together.

There certainly is some beauty there. Document, But please be safe. I guess that’s a true sentiment across North America.
