Iceland sunrise

I had never been this far North. I’m used to the sun seeming to rise and set so quickly you can miss it if you’re not careful. But the sun hangs on the horizon in Iceland, even in February. I can’t imagine December. The fabulous light and colors I associate with “the blue hour” and “the golden hour” seem to take several hours. It gives you more time to take it all in and just enjoy. This photo was taken at least 30 minutes after sunrise, perhaps longer. I can’t remember. I just remember thinking, “wow, the sun is just hanging out.”
