The light made its way through the leaves of the tree outside my daughters’ window, hitting the nest just right. The two little hummingbirds have grown so much in the last five days and they have begun to take on their mother’s flourescent green tone when the sun hits their backs the right way. I’m going to miss these two when they fly away in a few days. We’re about 8 or 9 days out from hatching and they may be ready to fly away by day 12. I find that amazing.
