There are special moments that can only be captured accidentally. This was one of them. As I walked back into the track to grab a shot of the sunset, two of my sons were walking off the track. Isaiah was helping his younger brother recover. They are there on the 30-yard line.
Isaiah was the first person to congratulate his younger brother after a record-setting run. He was the last person at his younger brother’s side when the final race was done, supporting him through celebration and recovery. As a parent, this was a joy to witness. It’s a moment I’ll cherish.
And there was a sunset.
