There were many great moments from last night’s Foothill League Track & Field Finals. The finish of the Boys Varsity 1600M run was certainly one of them. Nick Serrano won the event in a personal record time of 4:18.89 on the strength of a tremendous kick in the last 400M of the race. But for me, the real story is in the background.

The real story is in the faces of his Saugus High School teammates as they celebrated near the finish line. It brings me joy to look at their unified reaction.
