The Photographer’s Ephemeris indicated that there was a 90% chance of sky fire, which was way higher a percentage I needed on this day to make the short drive to this spot overlooking Castaic lake. And it took very little to convince Isaiah to join me as well. When we got to the vista, I found a spot where the sun was in better view and the ground wasn’t going to give out on me or my camera, and Isaiah stood in front of the car and just watched.
After that moment when the sun peeked behind the hill, I made my way back over to the car and we enjoyed the colors blasting over the sky together. We had a great conversation during the car rides. It was a perfect evening. I certainly needed it. I think he did too.
