I only recently started selling my photos and thought I should probably illustrate where the profits go. 100% of the proceeds from my photo sales will be directed to local youth track and field programs. I’ve written about the value of these programs before and what I hope my children have learned from track and field. And yesterday, I was reminded of why I chose to do this.

As I shot photos at the Santa Clarita Storm Track Club meet at Valencia High School, my face must have displayed a constant smile. I remembered my children at these ages and the joy it brought me to watch them mature in the sport and as people. These programs need to continue, and they require private support. And lots of it.

So, when you pay $1.19 for a digital download, my cost from SmugMug is $0.01. This means $1.18 from every digital download will be donated to local youth track and field programs. None of the money goes to cover any of my expenses. Ever. At the end of each season, I’ll withdraw the money and put it to good use helping keep these programs alive. Youth track and field has meant so much to my family. And as you can see from the faces here, it means so much to others too. Here’s hoping it always will.
