Alison Felix runs the second leg of an elite 4×400 relay team in her final appearance at the Mt. SAC Relays.
The 2022 Mt. SAC Relays were held at Hilmer Lodge Stadium for the first time since 2016. Construction on this fantastic track facility was completed in March of 2020, but COVID19 delayed the event’s return to its home. This is one extraordinary track and field event and one exceptional facility. Watching a combination of the best high school, college, and pro/Olympic athletes compete is a treat every year. But this year seemed unique.
The Photos
I was honored to be inside the track as Alison Felix took her final lap as a competitor in the Mt. SAC Relays. And once again, I was able to witness a Newbury Park High School team set a national record, this time their girls in the 4×1600 relay in 19:48.81 (photo below). There were many memorable performances, and here are just a few of the nearly 2000 images I captured.
