After scouring sites that show images of the birds of San Carlos de Bariloche, I’m pretty sure each of these photos is of the Chimango Caracara. However, I can’t be certain. I think the one above is not mature and the one below this is a full-grown Chimango Caracara. The one above is similar to the one we saw at the top of Cerro Llao Llao. And we all felt it was a younger bird. If there are any bird experts that stumble on this post, I’d love to know for sure. They are everywhere in Bariloche.
