2023 CA Track & Field Winter Championships

You needed both hands to count the record breaking performances on Saturday at the 2023 California Track and Field Winter Championships at Arcadia High School. Ten new meet records were set, nine of them on the track. As Rich Gonzalez reported on PrepCalTrack, Xai Ricks (Long Beach Poly, shown above), “crushed the all-time California ‘absolute’ (indoors and outdoors) high school record for 600 meters with a 1:16.13.” In doing so, Xai also set a National Record for Juniors. Reign Redmond (Carson) set two meet records, one in the 60M (7.38) and one in the 150M (17.69), and Meagan Humphries (Castaic) established a new meet record in the high jump (5′ 10 ¼ “).

Here are a few photos from the day, and more can be seen at PrepCalTrack. The full set of images (1028) can be found here: CA Winter Champs Album! Remember, 100% of all photo sales will be donated to local youth track & field programs!
