This is the view from Room 229 at the Sofitel Montevideo Carrasco, Uruguay. A few days earlier, before our Tangilla team stayed at the Hotel Del Lago in Punta Del Esta, I was placed in Room 407. The Carrasco barrio of Montevideo is simply beautiful. The streets are pristine and filled with activity into the night. The people were friendly, except for the one waiter at Garcia Carrasco, but they hired a particular demographic of waiters: old guys stuffed into white shirts with black ties. So, his demeanor was probably to be expected. The Sofitel Montevideo Carrasco is over 100 years old and situated across the street from the beach that hugs the mouth of the Río de la Plata as it enters the South Atlantic Ocean. I highly recommend this for a visit of any length. But if you get the chance, stay a few days and really enjoy this wonderful Montevideo suburb. It’s worth the trip.
