I didn’t really need to exit room 4470 at the Ocean Riviera Paradise to enjoy the sunrises in Playa del Carmen. That was Rocky’s hope when she surprised me with this suite. It’s arguably the best suite at the resort. It’s large, with 2.5 bathrooms and a rooftop deck with an unobstructed view of the Caribbean.
When we arrived on Friday and the surprise was unveiled, I may have been just a bit excited. I ran to the rooftop deck to check out the view. We got to use it together just once, before Dengue arrived. We could never really enjoy this room in the 7 nights we were there. The stay was supposed to be 11 nights across two weekends. I would work on weekdays, and Rocky could enjoy the beach. That plan never transpired. We cut the trip short to get Rocky home to heal and rest. These photos are meant to spur us to try again another time. I will look forward to it. It won’t need to be a surprise.
