Big Meet

“Big Meet” season is my favorite track & field season in California. Last week was the amazing Arcadia Invitational, and this past weekend was the Mt. SAC Invitational, both premier track and field events on a national level. League finals begin this coming week, then the run to the CIF State Championships will begin, ending at Veterans Memorial Stadium at Buchanan High School in Clovis, California, on May 29th and 30th. It’s just one big meet after another.

Yesterday, the #1 and #2 4×100 Meter girls teams (Rosary and Calabasas) met for the second week in a row. Rosary defeated Calabasas last week, and this week Calabasas avenged the loss to win the Mt. SAC Girls Invitational 4×100. Olivia Kirk is one of our favorite athletes. She is shown above about to receive the baton for her final leg from Devyn Sproles.

My photos from the 2026 Mt. SAC Invitational can be found here: Jeff Turner’s 2026 Mt. SAC photos. Racquel’s photos can be found there once completed. As a reminder, all proceeds from photo sales are donated to local youth track and field programs.
