Vancouver, WA - The First Of Many

This is what I am quite certain will be the first of many photos from this vantage point. We have sold our home in Santa Clarita, California, and are moving to Vancouver, Washington. This photo was taken from the balcony of our apartment in The Columbia at The Waterfront during our decision-making tour.

This is a big move for us in many, many ways, not the least of which is leaving the home we’ve been in for the last 22 years, the home where we raised our six children. It’s time for a major lifestyle change. Time to shake things up and stretch our comfort zone a bit.

That brings me to another reason this is such a big move. See the chart below. We’re moving from sunny Southern California to the rainy Pacific Northwest. We made this decision on a cold and rainy day in Vancouver in mid-April. As I stare out the window at a typically perfect day here in Santa Clarita, I’m questioning our sanity. Regardless, we’re looking forward to new experiences.

And I’m looking forward to the sunset photos I’ll be able to share from our balcony overlooking the Columbia River. Here’s to the first of many new adventures!
