My oldest son was the first to see it. It was watching us from a tree about 40 yards away. The tree was across a small ravine and this Great Horned Owl was sitting about 20 feet up. I quietly climbed into the ravine to get as close as possible, but only had my 18-55 mm lens with me. This was the best I could do. We watched it for 15 -20 minutes. It was truly amazing to see in the wild.
