Early morning on a trail above the Santa Clarita Valley, the layers and layers of foothills and mountains in the distance felt like a painting. It was a gorgeous backdrop for a quick hike. I was in a hurry to get to a vista overlooking Saugus High School and had to pause for a moment to take it in.
