Jessie Beaudoin and I have been talking about getting together for a hike for what felt like years. We both live in Los Angeles, but it’s a big place. We typically only see each other at industry conferences. We decided to rectify that recently and scheduled a sunrise hike.

We both arrived at the trail around 5:20 am and started on a path very familiar to me, The Towsley Canyon Loop. I’ll be honest. I’m out of shape and it was unusually hot for that time of morning. The photo breaks were as much to catch my breath as to capture the scenes. The highlight of the trek, however, was not the cloudless sunrise or the mountain vistas. It was the engaging conversation. Thanks, Jessie.
