I’ve been trying to get a shot of one of these Western Tiger Swallowtail butterflies for months now. Or one of the rare Monarch butterflies we get. A few weeks ago I saw one in the backyard and got out as soon as I could, but it was nowhere to be found. We don’t have large numbers of these beautiful Swallowtails, not like the swarms of Monarchs that I would see in West Virginia in the summer. We have tons of these Fiery Skippers, but they’re not as interesting to photograph. I’m so glad I brought my camera on this walk.
